Tips on Applying
Arrive ready for success! Treat your visit to the Hughes Staffing Agency office just like you would an interview with a potential employer. This means dressing appropriately, paying attention to your hygiene, arriving on time for your appointment, bringing proper identification, and eliminating distractions such as extra people and silencing your mobile phone.

• Bring in proper identification to complete the I-9 form.
• Bring in any proof of certifications you may have.
• If you haven’t sent us your resume, please bring a copy.
• Be prepared for a criminal background and drug test.

Interview Process
You’re probably wondering what to expect at your interview with Hughes. When you arrive, you’ll be greeted at the front desk, and we will start your file; this means getting the required ID’s and filling out any forms not completed online. Next, you will be pre-screened by our Staffing Specialist who will be going over your work history and determine if we are a good fit for one another. Now that we know you have the skills we need, your next step will be to complete pre-employment documents.

 

Our skills testing is something we’ve become known for throughout the state. Depending on your area of expertise, you will be given a test to demonstrate your competency in that area; for example, if you are a welder, the skills test will show that you know the basic safety and practical requirements to do your job. If you are applying for clerical positions, your test may be about basic computer knowledge and word processing.

 

Finally, your personal Staffing Specialist will meet with you to do a one-on-one interview. We look forward to getting to know you, hear about your career goals, and matching you with the best position available. If we don’t have an immediate position for you, we will utilize all of our resources to find something for you. Typically, the turn around from starting the process to placement is as short as 1-5 days depending on market demand for your skills.

Benefits That Work
A common question we hear a lot is, “How do employees placed by the Hughes Staffing Agency get paid?” Instead of receiving a paycheck directly from your employer, you’ll be paid as an employee of the Hughes Staffing Agency via direct deposit or Global Cash Card, a loadable Visa card for those without a bank account. And benefits? You’ll have access to medical, vision, and dental insurance along with term life, workers’ compensation, and short-term disability. If not completed online, a benefits form must be filled out as part of your new hire paperwork.
